What shoes should I wear to cheerleading tryouts?

I'm almost a freshman and the cheerleading tryouts are in a couple of weeks. I've never done cheerleading before so I was wondering what shoes I should wear for tryouts. Like tennis shoes? Converse? Vans? Help meeee!!!!

If you really can't afford to purchase cheer shoes, try to wear white fitness shoes that aren't clunky or bulky.

To be honest i wouldn't go out and buy cheerleading shoes until you are sure you make the squad because other wise it would be a pointless purchase. For my first day of tryouts i wore just some running shoes and then i borrowed a pair from one of the girls for the second and third days. I wouldn't suggest you wear vans because they tend to be wide and your feet may slide around which can be a hazard. My friend wore keds and they seems to work find for her. It really doeesn't matter what shoes you wear. Typically if you make it, you have to buy a certain shoe anyways, so it would be a waste to buy them. I'd just wear nikes unless you're planning on being a flyer, in which case I would use cheer shoes at practice. Good luck! :)

Hello,

You should go out and get a pair of cheer shoes that are inexpensive but are also very supportive. Shoes that are not necessarily tight as in too small but tight as in a good fit. Especially for stunting purposes you are going to want something that our not doesn't move around in, but is secure. Most coaches are also going to prefer white over a color but the color of your shoes won't make or break whether you make the team or not. I hope that this helped!

Cheer leading shoes I would recommend really anything like nike's, puma's, or like you said tennis shoes, anything that you would be comfortable in and if you want you could even go to the cheer store (If you have one) or go online and look for some cheer leading shoes for cheap until you get new ones if you wanted too. You should really go out and get cheerleading sneakers just get cheap ones for now untill you know if you make the team! They normally have them at a local sports store
