Darts is a Sport because same as all the other Sports it is played by professional people who are payed millions for winning championships and tournaments and lots of people like watching it as over 2.5 Million Viewers tuned into the 2015 BDO World Championships this year on BBC Two. And also Sky seem to think it is a sport with it dedicating an entire channel to the William Hill Darts Championships.

A sport is a physical recreational activity, done simultaneously against an opponent, that includes animated movement and positional movement. Darts is a done by turn, and really isn't very physical. Darts is more of a game. If you were playing darts where you and an opponent were trying to hit the board at the same time, and you were changing your position constantly, that it would be a sport.

Darts, snooker etc. are games. Definitely not sports. Sports require some form of physical ability (and that's not just the ability to drink excessive amounts of beer).

I think so, they have lumberjack competitions and it is a sport. If they allowed power walking to be an olympic event, then darts should be at least a sport.

To me ice skating is an art form (performing arts). I am sadly in the minority on this issue.

No, because you can drink and smoke whilst you are doing it, and you don't break sweat.



Snooker and table tennis in my opinion are not sports, they are pastimes, because skill rather than physical ability are the major requirements. Synchronised swimming and diving are also not sports, they are artistic performances and the judging is, therefore, subjective.



Strongest, fastest, highest, longest, you get the idea.



Over the years, the PC concept of inclusiveness has brought many activities into the Olympics that have no right to be there. It is becoming ridiculously burdensome to stage the Olympics because of it.

I think its a sport, it gets your heart pumping its competitive. my arm hurts after a good competition. you have to train hard to be a good stamina player, mind and body, its just coz all have seen big beer bellies over the years they think its easy
