Does anyone know how long it takes to skate (or rollerblade) one mile?

It takes me 35 minutes to ride my bike 5 miles to work. It takes me 1 1/2 hours to walk 5 miles to work. Just trying to change it up, but I'd rather SKATE because I don't know how to rollerblade.

Using quad skates will be slower than inline skates.

A lot depends on your skating skills.

An 8 1/2 mph average on a bike is a relatively slow speed for 5 miles.



I would expect a 6-10 mph range for most people on skates. It also depends on what the surfaces are like.



I do a reasonable amount of street skating (but mostly on trails) and can average over 10 on skates that long using streets and sidewalks.

Well if I was going top speed, for one mile, i would do like 5 mins, and seeing that i wouldnt be able to hold that for 5 miles it would be around the same on a bike.
