I wanted to take my Mosin-Nagant M91/30 out this morning but it looked like there was a good bit of rust in the barrel. I've never had a barrel rust on me before and didn't really know what to do so I just ran a bunch of solvent-soaked patches through until they started coming out white. It looks like that took care of almost all the rust but it looks like there's a little left in the rifling grooves

I figure it's ok now and shooting some rounds through it will knock out whatever's left?
Or should I go get a wire scrubber or something and try to get 100% of it out?

Short answer is that it is a Mosin... it will fire just fine with bone fragments and teeth lodged in the barrel and action. But to be more to the point, the answer is yes. Yes, firing it will dislodge some obstructions in the rifling, and yes, you should clean with a brass brush until it is all clear. Wether you use the brass brush and do this before or after you fire it next is largely irrelevant.
