for the past year I have been helping out with a program in my county that provides a 6 week course for beginning sports for 3-5 year olds. I have helped out with the cheerleading and it has been going great. But now I'm starting to see repeat girls and the they are learning much faster then I expected. I have found some new cheers to teach them but Im not sure what else I can do to keep their attention. We have played duck duck goose and little sally walker. And I have played the song Pom Pom Party for them. What else is safe enough to teach them out on a field? Thanks so much in advance for your help!!

You can work on form and technique. Spend a good amount of time stretching. Teach them jumps if you haven't already; toe touches, pikes, tuck jumps. You can teach them forward rolls and cartwheels. You can teach them a dance.

This website has some videos of things you can teach them. it also has some cheerleading printables.

You could possibly work more strictly on technique and add in trust-building skills, etc. Sounds like a blast!
