Practice is the only way to get good. But GOOD practice is key. Make sure you have a consistent throw. New players tend to lunge and move alot during their throw. You want to keep your body as still as possible, and try to only throw with the fore arm. Consistency is best, then you know exactly how it feels to throw at a certain number.

As for tournaments. Try to contact the local league. Usually they are for adults because darts is typically played in a bar. But they might have a junior league. I know in Savannah, Georgia they do. And they also have Jr. events at the tournaments.

Good luck!

Join a local dart league. May have to wait until you are 21 for that if they play at a bar.

Research darts on the internet.

Stand with both toes touching the hockey, squarely facing the board. When throwing, only move your forearm, keep your upper arm locked where it is.

Practice.....do you have a local Boys and Girls Club? Or YMCA? Try those and if they don't offer "darts" as an activity...why not start a league....and get people interested....Good Luck...

Practice, practice, practice. Practice throwing darts at the cat/dog's face. You'll get good then!!
